The device (101) has an input unit (103) for receiving data representing rotation speeds of driving wheels and non-driving wheels of a motor vehicle. A data processing unit (104) comprises a comparing unit for comparing rotation speed of one of the driving wheels with rotation speed of the non-driving wheel arranged at same side of the vehicle. The comparison unit acts on a regulating unit (105) for triggering functioning of a brake unit (106) of the driving wheels in case of detection of driveability loss of the driving wheels.
