PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for oxygenation of blood. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes an extracorporeal circuit to prepare and deliver hyperoxia or high pressure blood. In one embodiment, a physiological saline gas-supersaturating device includes a chamber 300, and the chamber includes a first inlet to receive the fluid, a second inlet to receive gas from a gas source 310 for maintaining pressure in the chamber at a predetermined level, and an outlet connected to a capillary assembly. An atomizer nozzle connected to the first inlet generates fine fluid droplets in the chamber, so that gas diffuses in the fine fluid droplets to generate gas-supersaturated fluid. The gas-supersaturated fluid is collected in the chamber below the atomizer nozzle, so that it is taken out through the outlet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
