摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the inconvenience that if a hybrid vehicle currently running on a local line with a running pattern of a low-speed diesel car directly enters a service zone for an electric vehicle operating on a rapid and tight schedule, other electric vehicles catch up with the hybrid vehicle and thereby operation schedules are all mixed up. SOLUTION: A device for driving a railroad vehicle is provided with a device 12 for detecting a current service route. According to a service route detected by the device 12, the optimum running pattern is selected by a controller 11, and then a command value to each device is switched to allow a railroad vehicle to operate with the same running pattern as those of other diesel cars and electric vehicles according to the detected service route. This way, diesel cars can be easily substituted by hybrid vehicles without installing additional facilities on the ground such as a railroad crossing and changing operation schedules.
