<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capture an image in an appropriate imaging mode according to blur prediction. <P>SOLUTION: The generation of a blur is predicted for captured image data from information on surrounding brightness, the movement of an imaging apparatus, and the movement of a subject, when automatically capturing an image, for example, as a life log use. Based on the blur prediction, a still-image or moving-image imaging mode is selected.
