A method for hernioplasty of postoperative and ventral hernias applying on-lay surgical mesh and formation of the artificial omphalus comprises the cut of the skin with the incision of the broken omphalus. When the hernial sac in the projection of the anticipated omphalus is cut, the flap is left at the edge of the muscular-aponeurotic layer. The hernial sac is cut, and its content is descended in to the peritoneal cavity. When necessary, the adhesions are separated, the remnants of the hernial sac are removed. After suturing the proper tissues of the muscular-aponeurotic layer, the free flap is left, which is then passed through the opening in the surgical mesh. The mesh is fixed round the periphery to the muscular-aponeurotic layer of the abdominal wall and around the opening, through which the umbilical cord is freely extended. The apices of the trapezoid flaps are fixed to the muscular-aponeurotic layer. Finally, the wound is sutured layer-by-layer on both sides of the generated artificial omphalus. |
