PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone equipped with a high quality microphone unit having a small outline and capable of removing noise, and to provide the microphone unit. SOLUTION: The microphone unit includes a housing 10 having an internal space, and a partition 20 provided in the housing 10 and dividing the internal space into a first space 102 and a second space 104. A first through-hole communicating the first space 102 with the external space of the housing, and a second through-hole communicating the second space 104 with the external space of the housing are formed in the housing 10, the partition 20 has a vibrating diaphragm 30 which vibrates by receiving sound pressure from the first space 102 and the second space 104, and a plurality of piezo resistance elements 70a, 70b, ... fixed to the vibrating diaphragm 30, and the partition 20 is arranged to interrupt mutual movement of a medium for transmitting sound wave between the first space and the second space in the housing.
