PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform compression processing of color gamut without losing the continuity of tone in the same hue. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 10 for generating color data included in second color gamut of a second device on the basis of color data included in first color gamut of a first device, has a color data generating means 11 for dividing the first color gamut into two or more layers on the basis of lattice point coordinates of a color conversion lookup table, a color gamut compressing means 12 for generating a saturation value of each layer of the second color gamut on the basis of a saturation value of each layer of the first color gamut, and a LUT generating means 13 for generating a color conversion lookup table on the basis of the generated second color gamut.
