<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth switch reducing arc-heat-induced deterioration of breaking performance and having a long lasting, stable and high breaking performance. <P>SOLUTION: A fixed contact 2 is connected to a conductor 3 or a main circuit part and is disposed within a main circuit tank 1. A movable contact 5 brought into contact or out of contact with the fixed contact 2 is disposed within an earth switch tank 4 on the earth side. A permanent magnet 10 is installed to deenergize arc generated between contactors in a position.
