PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can lid of a metal beverage can which is capable of preventing generation of cracks caused by a buckling phenomenon accompanying abnormal increase in inner pressure and effectively preventing a score from accidentally breaking. SOLUTION: A shelf step section 12 radially extending outward in a shelf-shape is continuously provided along the whole periphery of a circular groove 3 at a middle part in the height direction of an outer wall 3a in the reinforced circular groove 3 arranged along an outer peripheral edge of a center panel section 2, and a step width W of the shelf step section 12 is formed at a relatively wide width rather than a neighboring zone in the Y-axis of an opposite side in the neighboring zone of the Y-axis on a side where an opening piece 8 is existed as a reference of the Y-axis passing through the center of the can lid and the end of the opening piece.
