PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slicer for slantingly cutting a food product, which slicer can stably supply the food product, and can easily carry out the confirmation of the remaining state and the carrying state of the food product on the carrying surface of a conveyer, and the supply of the food product on the carrying surface of the conveyer. SOLUTION: The slicer for slantingly cutting the food product is composed of a supporting shaft 10 provided on a machine base, a food product holding member 1, the tip end of which reciprocatingly swings about the axis of the supporting shaft along an arcuate imaginary sectional surface B, a carrying conveyer 2 which is provided on the food product holding member 1 so as to carry the food product, and a band knife 7 for slicing the tip end portion of the food product M to be carried on the carrying surface of the carrying conveyer. The tip end portion of the food product is brought into slanting contact with the arcuate imaginary sectional surface by arranging the carrying conveyer so as to carry the food product in non-radial direction with respect to the axis of the supporting shaft so as to slantingly slice the food product such that the length H<SB>1</SB>of the tip end portion of the food product in the slicing direction is longer than the thickness H of the food product by at least 5% or more.
