PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the waiting time of a user when rewriting an image in a display device. SOLUTION: When the user carries out an operation to turn over a half page, the image data for the half page to be rewritten is read out by a CPU 11 and is developed to a VRAM 14 while the user reads the remaining half page. Further, the image data is supplied by the CPU 11 to a display controller 16 to display the image. Namely, the waiting time between when the user turns over the page and when the image is displayed is effectively used, and thereby the user can read the next document without waiting for the image rewriting when turning over the page.
