LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to have a pixel area with two domains, thereby improving the visibility and to maintain a cell gap stably. A gate line and a data line(141) are formed on the first insulating substrate(111) and crossed with each other so that a pixel area is defined. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) is connected with the gate line and the data line electrically. A pixel electrode is connected with the TFT and includes a stem electrode in parallel to the data line and plural parallel branch electrodes connected with the stem electrode. A common electrode(251) is formed on the second insulating substrate(211). An organic layer is formed on the common electrode and has an opening for exposing the common electrode. A liquid crystal layer(300) is interposed between the first and second insulating substrates, and the distance between the branch electrodes are larger than the width of the branch electrode. The common electrode is formed at the entire of the pixel area.
