The device has a clutch master cylinder (11) controlled by a clutch pedal (2), and a clutch slave cylinder (20) connected to the master cylinder by a pipe (15). An assistance cylinder (30) is interposed in the pipe and has pistons (31, 32) sliding between clutching and declutching positions. A regulation unit (40) comprises a distributor (40a) formed by a slide. The slide is displaced for varying a value of assistance force on the pistons proportional to the force exerted on the pedal, where the displacement of the slide is controlled by fluid pressure of the cylinders.
