PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a plurality of users to efficiently view a content without performing any complex user management even when the plurality of users are permitted to operate a content playback device and the like. SOLUTION: The content playback device includes a recording unit 122, an input I/F 130, a video I/F 126, and a CPU 120. The recording unit 122 stores video information and resume information composing a content. The input I/F 130 receives an instruction of playback of the content and an instruction of stopping the playback. The video I/F 126 outputs the resume information and the video information. The CPU 120 outputs the video information when a playback instruction is received. The CPU 20 generates, when a stopping instruction is received while the video information is output, resume information according to the point of time. The CPU 20 stores the resume information generated after the reception of the instruction in the recording unit 122, in addition to the information stored before the stopping instruction is received.
