PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimensionally compact intake device for a scooter-type vehicle capable of sucking relatively clean air and having high suction air cleaning performance and durability of an intake passage. SOLUTION: A cushion evading recession part 58 for evading a rear cushion unit 47 is formed on an inner side surface in a vehicle width direction of an air cleaner 54 (cleaner case 55) arranged above a motive power transmission device 22, and the tube-like and expansion/contraction deformable intake passage 59 is extended from near a front side of the cushion evading recession part 58 to a front, obliquely upper side. The expansion/contraction direction is laid in a tangent direction of a circular arc C making a pivot shaft 43 of a power unit 24 as a center. Further, an intake chamber 62 connected to a distal end of the intake passage 59 is arranged in a space surrounded by an article storage chamber 17, a fuel tank 18, a sitting seat 16 and a vehicle body cover 28 (rear body 31) and is fixed to a peripheral wall of the article storage chamber 17, and a suction port 68 upwardly extended from the intake chamber 62 is opened into the space below the sitting seat 16.
