Provided is a spatial phase modulation element formed by: a substrate including a switch circuit for performing optical phase modulation or driving each of the sections for performing the optical phase modulation; a plurality of elastic members arranged at the partition positions; an electrode arranged below the elastic member; and a mirror. Moreover, it is possible to provide a novel video display method using the spatial phase modulation element and a projection device for realizing the video display method.
