PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device suitable for a video camera which attains quiet and stable recording and reproduction by suppressing the generation of vibration and noise caused by disk rotation. SOLUTION: The rotational frequency of a disk is controlled according to the state of a video camera. A rotational frequency control method or a rotation control method of the disk is switched or both the rotational frequency control method and the rotation method are switched by having a disk rotation control means which rotates the disk by arbitrary rotational frequency control and rotation control, and an adjustment processing means for recording data on the disk, and carrying out the adjustment processing of a period for performing photographing, and the adjustment processing of a period when photographing is not performed.
