<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchange device and its exhaust heat recovery method capable of easily taking energy-saving measures to an existing drier and the like, and improving heat exchanging efficiency and saving a fuel with a comparatively simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: In this heat exchange device 2 provided with a furnace 6, a heat exchange portion 8 and an exhaust flue portion 9 continued from the heat exchange portion 8 in a casing 4, a screw plate 16 for spirally guiding a combustion exhaust gas is disposed in the exhaust flue portion 9 in the casing 4, and a plurality of radiation fins 17 is disposed on an outer peripheral face of the exhaust flue portion 9. As the combustion exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust flue portion 9 in the casing 4 is spirally guided along the screw plate 16, and accumulated in the exhaust flue portion 9 for a long time, the heat of the combustion exhaust gas of high temperature can be efficiently recovered into the casing 4 through a wall body of the exhaust flue portion 9.
