A signal transmitting apparatus shifts the phases of three transport signals by respective predetermined phase shift amounts that are different by 120 degrees from one another to generate three phase-shifted signals. When a pair of ones of the three phase-shifted signals includes first and second phase-shifted signals, an inverted version of the first phase-shifted signal is combined with the second phase-shifted signal. This combination is implemented for each of all pairs of phase-shifted signals, thereby generating and transmitting three combined transport signals to three respective transmission lines. A signal receiving apparatus generates, based on the three combined transport signals as received, three received signals and detects, based on the received signals, decoded signals of the respective transport signals.
