The drive device (1) has two actuators (6.1, 6.2) that are arranged at a distance to each other and are driven by a drive unit (4.1) with tension-thrust-units (5.1, 5.2). A sensor (8.1) i.e. capacitive sensor, is provided for determining the position of the tension-thrust unit. A control device (16) is provided for temporarily disconnecting the drive unit during predetermined positional variation of the tension-thrust unit. The sensor is arranged adjacent to each tension-thrust-unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a loading space cover for a passenger car.
