PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of feeding a raw material for effectively preventing a blocking state, and also to provide a raw material feeder. SOLUTION: In the raw material feeder 1, a screw conveyor 5 for dispensing a raw material through which a screw 4 is extended from the inside to the outside of a raw material box 2, is installed in the bottom 3 of the raw material box 2 for storing the raw material therein. A horizontal agitator 8 having: a horizontal rotating shaft 6; and an agitating plate 7 eccentric to the rotating shaft 6, is installed in the raw material box 2 on the upper side of the screw 4.
