PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil mist separator that has a superior oil catching efficiency in spite of a simple construction, and that is designed to secure an oil discharge passage. SOLUTION: An oil mist is separated by causing a blow-by gas to collide with a collision wall provided at a blow-by passage 11 through a throttle passage 23A. A partition wall 22 for partitioning the blow-by passage 11 is provided at upstream side of the collision wall. On this partition wall 22, there is formed penetrating therethrough a slit 23 extending up to a passage bottom wall 12 of the blow-by passage 11. A pair of shielded plate sections 24, 25 are provided at upstream side and downstream side of the partition wall 22 so as to shield a lower section of the slit except the throttle passage 23A, thus forming the throttle passage 23A at an upper section of the slit.
