ADSORBENT REMOVING TRACE COMPONENT IN HYDROCARBON OIL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent efficiently and economically removing sulfur compounds, polycyclic aromatic compounds and the like in a hydrocarbon oil by adsorption and its manufacturing method, to provide a method for removing trace components, especially sulfur compounds, in the hydrocarbon oil by using the adsorbent and to provide a fuel cell system preparing the adsorbent.

SOLUTION: Carbonization-treated matter or activation-treated matter having a specific surface area of 200 m2/g or more and having an average pore diameter of 20 Å or more is obtained by that plant biomass is carbonization-treated at 300-900°C under reduced pressure or further activation-treated after carbonization-treating at 200-900°C under reduced pressure and/or an inert atmosphere and then the adsorbent removing the trace compounds in the hydrocarbon oil is manufactured from the carbonization-treated matter or the activation-treated matter. The adsorbent manufactured by the method, the method for removing the trace components in the hydrocarbon oil by using the adsorbent and the fuel cell system using the adsorbent are provided.
