PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new integrase rapidly catalyzing a site-specific recombination of a substrate in low concentration. SOLUTION: The invention provides the new integrase and genes thereof, etc., having following physicochemical properties (A) and (B). An ineffective recombination of the target gene in gene therapy or breeding of eucaryotic organism by genome engineering which is a conventional problem, is improved, by-product site-nonspecific gene recombination is suppressed, and an effective recombination of the target gene by using the new integrase is enabled. (A) Effect- and substrate-specificity; the gene catalyzes the site-specific recombination between following two kinds of DNA sequences (attB and attP). attB:5'-TCGATCAGCTCCGCGGGCAAGACCTTCTCCTTCACGGGGTGGAAGGTCGG-3', attP:5'-GTTCCAGCCCAACAGTGTTAGTCTTTGCTCTTACCCAGTTGGGCGGGATA-3', (B) molecular weight: about 66.5Kd (kilo Dalton).
