PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid imaging device which divides an image taken by a solid imaging element, reads the divided images at a high speed, and outputs the images through a plurality of output circuits respectively. SOLUTION: A solid imaging device 10 divides one screen into a plurality of division areas at an imaging surface 30, horizontally transfers a plurality of image data obtained from the division areas side to side by a horizontal transfer line 32, and outputs the data by a plurality of output circuits 34 and 36 respectively. When an amplifier characteristic of the output circuits 34 and 36 is detected, OB data obtained from an OB area 38 in the imaging surface 30 is horizontally transferred in the direction of left by the horizontal transfer line 32, the OB data is outputted by a single output circuit 34 to obtain all of the OB data, the OB data is horizontally transferred side to side by the horizontal transmission line 32, the OB data is outputted from the output circuits 34 and 36 to obtain left OB data and right OB data, and the amplifier characteristic of the output circuits 34 and 36 is detected, based on all of the OB data, the left OB data, or the right OB data, by an output circuit characteristic detecting portion 24.
