PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a color chart for color adjustment which is not readily influenced by unevenness in shading in a transporting direction of a printing medium and by unevenness in shading in the direction orthogonal to the transporting direction. SOLUTION: A data storage unit stores chart data relating to a color adjustment correction chart in which the density of patches is gradually increased in a color changing direction that is common among the plurality of patches 61. A transporting device transports a printing medium so that it passes through a position opposed to a printing surface of a thermal head, which is fixedly disposed. A main control unit and a printing apparatus control unit control the thermal head and the transporting device so that the color adjustment correction chart, in which the color changing direction is inclined with respect to both the transporting direction and the direction orthogonal thereto, is printed. A color adjustment correction chart in which the plurality of patches 61 having different colors at reference points having equivalent relative positions among the patches are disposed in a matrix in an X direction and a Y direction that is orthogonal thereto is printed.
