PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support apparatus that has the extent of cautioning as being appropriate. SOLUTION: The driving support apparatus, in a vehicle for cautioning a driver, according to the position of own vehicle, comprises a detection means for detecting the position of own vehicle and detecting a building, having a predetermined attribute existing within a first predetermined region, on the basis of the detected position of own vehicle and a display means for superimposing a second predetermined region, including the detected building on map information as visual information and providing it to the driver, when the building having the predetermined attribute is detected within the first predetermined region. The detection means detects the traveling direction of own vehicle and sets the first predetermined region so that it is a fan-shaped region, having a predetermined radius with the position of own vehicle as the center and that it includes the detected traveling direction of own vehicle.
