<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator which can provide a constant supply of electrical energy, without destroying the natural environment, and moreover, which can be made compact. <P>SOLUTION: The generator comprises a primary winding which produces an advancing magnetic field, in addition to an alternating field, and a secondary winding disposed so as to be interlinked to the alternating field and the advancing magnetic field set up by the primary winding. The primary winding produces the advancing magnetic field and the alternating field, by applying an intermittent direct current or an alternating current. The secondary winding is disposed so as to be interlinked to the alternating field and the advancing magnetic field for inducing electromotive force. The generator is constituted of a core comprising a first core portion and a second core portion which are magnetically coupled to each other, and a plurality of slots formed between the core portions, or an annular groove formed between the core portions.
