The method involves applying a function e.g. hashing function, to electronic data (1) and to location of the data at two different times, and storing results obtained during different times. The modification, displacement and/or substitution of the data are detected by comparing the obtained results. One of the results is stored after receiving a data retrieval, addition, displacement or modification request which is send using a transmitting entity. An independent claim is also included for an electronic data managing system.
