PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary actuator which connects corresponding to several kinds of specifications without exchanging an actuator main body regardless of whether the output shaft of a valve is a male type or a female type, thereby is simplified by reducing the number of part items, and which is useful in respect to the control, etc. SOLUTION: The actuator main body 20 is used for both the shafts 31 and 33 for the male shaft and the female shaft. Either the shaft 3 for the male shaft or the shaft 33 for female shaft is attached in the actuator main body 20 through a male shaft tube member 40 or a female shaft tube member 43. In the actuator, the shaft 31 for the male shaft or the shaft 33 for the female shaft can be exchanged in a shaft setting position of the actuator main body 20 for common use.
