The detector measures the dosage power of x-ray radiation up to 10<4> Gy/h. It has an x-ray fluorescent screen (18) and a phototransistor (20) connected together via a light conductor (19) of synthetic material. High energy x-ray radiation of about 160 keV is used with a measurement time of 30 milliseconds. The optical conductor is especially single-stranded with a diameter of 1 mm. and/or length of at least 1 m. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for sorting old batteries and/or accumulators according to type.
