PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel capable of smoothly performing lure action operations, when really fishing. SOLUTION: The fishing reel has a spool 7 rotatably supported between side boards 3a and 3b of a reel main body 1, a handle shaft 6 rotatably supported on one plate side and having a handle 5, and a winding drive mechanism 13 rotating the spool 7 by rotating operation of the handle 5. At an upper position of the spool 7 positioned between the side plate 3a and 3b, an auxiliary operation part 65 is rotatably installed and, by rotating operation of the auxiliary operation part 65 by a finger of the hand grasping and holding a side plate 3a of the reverse handle side of the reel main body 1, a fishing line can be auxiliary wound on the spool 7.
