摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil return structure for an exhaust turbocharger, surely preventing the mixture of lubricating oil into exhaust gas in an exhaust pipe through a bearing portion of the exhaust turbocharger by securing the other end opening of a communication duct to a lubricating oil return passage. SOLUTION: On the midway of the lubricating oil return passage via which the lubricating oil supplied to the exhaust turbocharger is returned to the lower part of a crank case, a sub-chamber 33 is provided which has a sufficient capacity to store the predetermined amount of lubricating oil to be returned via an upstream-side lubricating oil return passage portion thereof. The other end opening 34b of the communication duct 34, whose one end opening is open to the upper part of the crank case at a position higher than the downstream end opening of the downstream-side lubricating oil return passage portion to the lower part of the crank case, is open to the upper face of the sub-chamber so as to be communicated with a downstream end opening 321a of an upstream-side lubricating oil return passage portion via the sub-chamber.
