A mobile communication terminal having a frequency compensation function and an operating method thereof are provided to correct frequency errors by reading temperature compensation values according to current temperature, thereby improving the performance of call transceiving. A mobile communication terminal having a frequency compensation function comprises the followings: a period sensor(40) for sensing an operation mode conversion period corresponding to signal transceiving; a temperature compensator(20) for compensating a frequency error according to a measured temperature; and a controller(10). According to a conversion period signal inputted from the period sensor(40), the controller(10) controls the frequency error to be compensated by the temperature compensator(20) and makes a signal transceived by the compensated frequency.
