<p>An electrochemical gas sensor including a main body case; an electrolyte accommodation space disposed within the main body case; a measuring object gas passage fitted to the main body case; a laminate of operating electrode and measuring object gas permeable membrane disposed between the electrolyte accommodation space and the measuring object gas passage so that the operating electrode lies on the side of electrolyte accommodation space while the measuring object gas permeable membrane lies on the side of measuring object gas passage; and a laminate holddown part capable of holding the laminate down so as to fix the same to the main body case, characterized in that in order to inhibit any leakage of electrolyte from the electrolyte accommodation space into the measuring object gas passage, a ringlike packing is provided between the measuring object gas permeable membrane and the main body case and further the laminate holddown part is disposed in the interior of the main body case.</p>
