A system and a method for displaying/playing contents, a recording medium, and an operation control device are provided to manually or automatically select an optimal displaying/playing unit in case that the contents are selected and displayed, and solve inconvenience caused when the same displaying/playing unit is selected by many users. The system includes content providing units(12,13), the content displaying/playing units(14-16), and an operation control unit(17) for controlling the content providing unit and the content displaying/playing unit. The operation control unit includes an input operation receiver, a control signal generator generating a control signal for transceiving content information to the content providing unit and the content displaying/playing unit according to operation inputted through the input operation receiver, and a storing part storing selection history information of the content displaying/playing unit for displaying/playing the contents received from the content providing unit by the control signal generator. |
