PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control resin excellent in charging performance, and to provide a toner having superior fixing property, excellent in charging characteristics, keeping stable developing performance and transferability from the initial stage to the end of print-out of many sheets, and capable of giving stable images over a prolonged period of time. SOLUTION: The charge control resin contains a copolymer which has a unit containing a sulfonic acid ester group having a specific structure and has the unit in specific proportions.
