PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery improving reliability of electric connection between a bottom of a can and a downward electrode tab, and also to provide its formation method. SOLUTION: This secondary battery is provided with: an electrode assembly 20 having two electrodes 25 with electrode tabs 27 and 29 formed thereon and separators 21 and 23 intervened between the two electrodes 25; a can 10 for storing the electrode assembly 20; and a cap assembly 80 covering the can 10 by intervening a gasket 30 in an opening of the can 10. The structure of the secondary battery is characterized in that one of the electrode tab 27 and 29 is welded to the inside surface of the can 10 at least at two points while being bent in the can 10. The welding may be executed on the bottom of the can 10, and the electrode tabs 27 and 29 may be bent twice or more in the secondary battery. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
