894,579. Testing coins in coin-freed apparatus. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Sept. 8, 1958 [Oct. 2, 1957], No. 30807/57. Class 27. Coin - testing mechanism for coin - freed apparatus comprises a base-plate 1, a pivoted spring-loaded clearing wall 5, a diametergauging passageway formed between the edges 15, 16 of spacer plates 13, 14, a magnet 19 on the clearing wall and a non-magnetic shield 22 spaced from the base-plate to form a coin passageway and an anvil 24 from which a correct coin will rebound to a desired location or from which an incorrect coin will fall to a reject shoot 23. A shoulder 18 is provided on the plate 14 to absorb the first impact of the inserted coin. In order that coins trapped in the passageway 15, 16 or by the magnet may be released to fall to the reject shoot 23, the clearing wall can be pivoted away from the base-plate either automatically after a time delay or by pressing an exterior button 8 and causing a roller 11 on a rod 7 to engage a cam surface 9 on the plate 14. The wall can also be pivoted to a greater degree by a direct pull, to afford access for maintenance. Specifications 894,580 and 894,581 are referred to.
|
