<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure appropriate air intake performance in response to the operation condition of an internal combustion engine 1 in an air-intake device 15 of the internal combustion engine 1. <P>SOLUTION: The air-intake device is provided with a fixed intake passage 19 having a fixed passage length, a variable intake passage 20 adjustable in the length of an intake passage, and a switch member 21 switchable between a first condition for using the fixed intake passage 19 alone and a second condition for using both intake passages 19 and 20, in response to the operation condition such as load or revolution of the internal combustion engine 1.
