摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating the contribution of mechanical design parameters to the variations in the performances of an optical unit as a whole. SOLUTION: For an optical unit comprising two or more lens groups each having at least one optical component and at least one mechanism, tolerances and distributions in the manufacturing variations are allowed to the mechanical design parameters of the optical component and mechanism. A 1st contribution of the mechanism design parameter, giving changes to the changes of the optical component position, is calculated. The desired variation distributions of the measured parameters, changing with the design parameter changes in the mechanism (or the distributions of the measured parameters), are computed. A 2nd contribution of the variations in the spatial positions of each lens group to the optical performance of the optical unit is computed. The contribution of the mechanism design parameters to the variations of the optical performance of the optical unit is computed by using the 1st and 2nd contributions.The method of appropriately setting the tolerance by using the final contributions is also disclosed.
