The clamping assembly (10), to clamp and position workpieces (36) of different lengths between two centers (28), has a base (14) with at least one linear guide (18). Slides (20,22) with the centers slide along the linear guide, moved by a drive in relation to each other and the base according to the workpiece length dimensions. An initial clamping unit is fitted to at least one slide, to apply a spring pressure on the center when its makes contact with the workpiece. The workpiece is held by a positioning slide (30), moving on a linear guide (16). |
