摘要 <p>Process for making a copolymer by copolymerising (1) ethylene with (2) at least one aliphatic C&lt;SUB&gt;3&lt;/SUB&gt;-C&lt;SUB&gt;20&lt;/SUB&gt; alpha-olefins and (3) at least one C&lt;SUB&gt;4&lt;/SUB&gt; to C&lt;SUB&gt;30&lt;/SUB&gt; conjugated or non-conjugated diene, by contacting with a catalyst comprising (a) a transition metal compound of Formula (A), and (b) an activating quantity of a suitable activator, groups R&lt;SUP&gt;1&lt;/SUP&gt; and R&lt;SUP&gt;2&lt;/SUP&gt; are -R&lt;SUP&gt;a&lt;/SUP&gt;, -OR&lt;SUP&gt;b&lt;/SUP&gt;, -NR&lt;SUP&gt;c&lt;/SUP&gt;R&lt;SUP&gt;d&lt;/SUP&gt;, and NHR&lt;SUP&gt;e&lt;/SUP&gt;: groups R&lt;SUP&gt;a&lt;/SUP&gt;, R&lt;SUP&gt;b&lt;/SUP&gt;, R&lt;SUP&gt;c&lt;/SUP&gt;, R&lt;SUP&gt;d&lt;/SUP&gt;, and R&lt;SUP&gt;e&lt;/SUP&gt;, and group R&lt;SUP&gt;3&lt;/SUP&gt; are (i) aliphatic hydrocarbon, (ii) alicyclic hydrocarbon, (iii) aromatic hydrocarbon, (iv) alkyl substituted aromatic hydrocarbon (v) heterocyclic groups or (vi) heterosubstituted derivatives of said groups (i) to (v); M is a Group 3 to 11 or a lanthanide metal; E is phosphorus or arsenic; X is an anionic group, L is a neutral donor group; n is 1 or 2, y and z are independently zero or integers such that the number of X and L groups satisfy the valency and oxidation state of the metal M. The process is useful for making elastomeric polymers.</p>
