PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing cuprous oxide particles capable of manufacturing a stable and highly concentrated cuprous oxide colloid, of which the size distribution is of monodispersion, in good efficiency by a liquid phase method, and to provide the cuprous oxide particles. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing cuprous oxide by using a stirring apparatus formed by connecting and arranging a stirring vessel equipped with a prescribed number of liquid supply ports for making liquids being stirring objects flow in and a discharging port for discharging a liquid finished in stirring treatment, and a first stirring device and a second stirring device having stirring means for stirring the solution in the stirring vessel; includes a reducing reaction process in which a solution containing a cuprous oxide raw material and a compound having reducing action are injected into the first stirring device, and they are stirred and mixed to perform reducing reaction of copper ions, and a dispersant adding process for injecting a solution containing a dispersant to the second stirring device to stir the solution having the cuprous oxide particles formed therein for mixing with the solution containing the dispersant.
