A portable wireless communication device (1) has a device body (2) and a cap (3) with a built-in antenna. The device body (2) has a circuit for processing a signal transmitted by a cap antenna (31) and/or a signal received by the cap antenna (31) and has a USB connector (22) inserted into an information device. The cap (3) with a built-in antenna protects the USB connector (22) and is removable. The cap antenna (31) is installed in the cap (3), and the device body (2) has a signal transfer means for causing a signal to be transmitted and received between the cap antenna (31) and the circuit. In the portable wireless communication device (1), both a reduction in size of the device body (2) and an increase in size of the cap antenna (31) are achieved at the same time.
