A bearing device for supporting a pinion shaft, wherein a pair of roller bearings axially arranged parallel with each other for rotatably supporting the pinion shaft on a case are installed between a pinion gear fitted to one end of the pinion shaft and a companion flange fitted onto the other end thereof. A skew contact ball bearing is used for the roller bearing on the companion flange side. Where the radius of curvature of the inner ring raceway track of that roller bearing is Ri, the radius of curvature of the outer ring raceway track thereof is RO, and the diameter of the balls thereof is Bd, the relation of the equations Ri < R0, 0.502 x Bd < Ri < 0.512 x Bd, and 0.510 x Bd < RO< 0.520 x Bd can be established. |
