An electrically powered and monitored lock for a door having a housing, containing a latch bolt, a latch bolt actuating means, and a locking bar, a plurality of sensors. The sensors monitor within the lock the condition of each of the following lock features, latch bolt position, retracted or extended, latch bolt actuating means position, actuating or not the latch bolt, locking bar position, not blocking or blocking the latch bolt actuating means, and door position, open or closed in the door frame. The condition of each feature ("feature condition") is separately sensed and a signal is generated for each which depicts or indicates the feature condition.
