PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor disk drive capable of maintaining a reading speed substantially equivalent to a reading speed or performance of a conventional device and achieving a reduction in capacity of an address translation table for memory management. SOLUTION: The semiconductor disk drive comprises: flash memory 8A having a plurality of erasure blocks 9 each made up of an erasure block information storing area 10 for storing the number of erasure of the pertinent erasure block, a plurality of data storing areas 11 for storing data, and a logic sector address storing area 12 for storing a logic sector address for each of the data storing areas; an address translation table 5A for translating a logic sector address into a physical erasure block number; and a CPU 4 for translating the inputted logic sector address into a physical erasure block number based on the address translation table 5A, finding the latest pertinent data storing area 11 based on the inputted logic sector address within the pertinent physical erasure block on the flash memory 8A, and reading the contents of the latest pertinent data storing area 11.
