PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste drying control method for giving efficient operation to a dryer by controlling wide-range ignition prevention in accordance with a relationship between oxygen concentration and internal temperature. SOLUTION: The waste drying control method is provided for drying wastes charged into a dryer 2 in the dryer 2. A range where no ignition occurs in the dryer 2 is preset in accordance with a temperature in the dryer with a hot air temperature sensor 81 and oxygen concentration with an oxygen concentration sensor 82. When cascade control with the temperature and the oxygen concentration causes a deviation from the range where no ignition occurs, the ignition in the dryer 2 is quenched. When an outlet temperature sensor 83 finds that the outlet temperature of the dryer is a preset temperature or higher or a flame detection sensor 84 detects flames in the dryer, the ignition in the dryer 2 is also quenched.
