PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake air throttling device capable of reducing the number of parts and miniaturizing a device by shortening distance between a motor shaft and a valve shaft supporting a valve element. SOLUTION: This intake air throttling device is provided with a valve housing 4, the valve shaft rotatably supported in the valve housing 4, and an intake air throttle valve 1 including the valve element 9 fixed on the valve shaft 7 and changing opening area of an air intake passage 8 formed in the valve housing 4, a speed reduction mechanism 2 connected to the intake air throttle valve 1, and a drive motor 3 connected to the speed reduction mechanism 2. Drive force of the drive motor 3 is transmitted to the valve shaft 7 via the speed reduction mechanism 2 and opening area of the air intake passage 8 is changed by rotation of the valve element 9. The speed reduction mechanism 2 includes an output gear 12 fixed on the motor shaft 11 of the drive motor 3 and an input gear 13 directly meshing with the output gear and fixed on an end part of the valve shaft 7.
